First Communion is ordinarily celebrated in Grade 2. Families with children attending Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Elementary School will receive the necessary information and forms through their child’s teacher. Those not attending the school are asked to contact the parish office for further information and scheduling. Adults wishing to receive First Communion are also invited to contact the parish office for more details.

Confirmation is ordinarily received in Grade 7. Adults wishing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation are also invited to contact the parish office for more details.

The Anointing of the Sick is available to anyone facing illness or the challenges of older age. It is not necessary to be near death to receive this sacrament—it can be received before a major surgery or after a serious diagnosis. If you or a loved one would like to receive the Anointing of the Sick, please contact the parish office to arrange a time.

Couples wishing to celebrate the Sacrament of Marriage at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church are asked to email Father Peter at least one year in advance to arrange a meeting and begin the preparation process. A Marriage Preparation Course through the Diocese of Hamilton is also required. As sessions fill quickly, couples are encouraged to register at their earliest convenience, either before or after meeting with Fr. Peter.

When someone has died, the usual process is for the family to contact the Funeral Home. The Funeral Home will then coordinate with the Church to arrange a date and time for the Funeral Mass.
